What grades do you serve and what are the fees?
Year-round preschool from a part-time toddler program for 2.5 year olds,
full and part-time year-round preschool and Jr. Kindergarten, Traditional
School Year Calendar for Elementary School: K-5th grade, and Middle School:
6-8th grade.
(Refer to the rate cards for fees.)
When does school start next year?
The school year begins the Thursday after Labor Day and continues through
the second week in June.
What is your religious affiliation?
Rancho Capistrano is the South Campus of the Crystal Cathedral Ministries,
and therefore, with the Crystal Cathedral and Dr. Schuller's philosophy
of inclusing, not exclusion, we welcome all denominations. The Crystal
Cathedral Ministries' denominational affiliation is the Reformed Church
of America. Christian principles are taught and modeled, daily prayer
and weekly chapels are held. Please refer to our "Statement Of Faith"
sheet for more information.
What are your entrance requirements?
Submit an application with letters of referral, meet with the Principal,
and the student will take an entrance exam. Kindergarten level requires
Chauncy-Bruce.
What is your teacher to student ratio?
Average class sizes are: preschool - 12 students, K-3rd - 20 students,
and 4-8th grade - 25 students.
What Sports Programs do you have?
K-5th grade have an excellent daily Physical Education class, where kids
get fresh air and participate in varied activities, such as field games,
calisthenics and other activities. 6-8th grades have Daily P.E. classes
and after school sports. We are a member of the PAL (Parochial Athletic
League) and participate in Winter and Spring sports such as flag football,
volleyball and basketball. In the summer, we offer Sports Camps.
What curriculum do you use?
We use the elementary ABeka curriculum, which is a challenging academic
program with a Christian base, enhanced with Spanish, Art, Computer, Music,
Drama, Athletics, Field Trips and hands-on learning utilizing the 170-acre
campus. Middle School uses ABeka for Science and History, SAXXON for Math
and Sadler Oxford for Engish.
Tell me more about your Summer Programs...
We have a nine week program throughout the summer of Discovery Day camp,
for children ages 5-14 , and various sports camps and academic summer
school for two sessions of three weeks each. (Refer to the Camps/Summer
school information).
Do you have scholarships available?
We have a program that offers a limited number of students a 50% reduction
in the tuition rate only - returning families are considered first for
the scholarship. We can send you an application if you are interested
in applying.
Are you Accredited?
We have been a member of the Association of Christian School International
(ACSI) since 1994. The Preschool is ACSI accredited.
Is it possible to visit and tour your campus?
Absolutely! We will be happy to call you and set up a tour and schedule
a visitation for your child. Or you can call us first thing Monday morning
and arrange a time that is convenient for you.
